They had lived in the shadows since that fateful day long ago. When Abingdon changed forever.

It had been for them to bear silent witness to the events that had transpired. So perhaps never again would such a thing happen.

It started so simple. A small group of Vampires gathering to speak about the Elder Gods, to discuss the Outer Gods, The Deep Ones that lurked in the waters around the shores. From there it turned into a faction, a guild of undead who were the silent sentinels of Abingdon. Never interfering with mortal affairs, instead they kept a guiding hand on those who sought refuge within their embrace. Their servants, their blood dolls, all were their sources of information during the daylight hours.

At night, they made themselves known. Walking through the streets, mingling with the residents of the small borough. Nondescript, looking as any other being would as they moved through the city, establishing their hold on certain businesses and ventures.

But it was spoken in whispers, words that the Obsidian Order had been there since Abingdon had been established.

When the Duke and Duchess of Powys established their home in Abingdon, it wasn’t long before the Duchess had taken command of the Faction. A force to be reckoned with, she was a stickler for the rules. The faction lead is now referred to as the Domina Noctis

Remember, we are not the only creatures lurking in the mists, there are those that would prey on even our kind. Be on your guard.

They would meet in the crypts beneath the old church, meet and discuss the ongoings in their own community as well as that of the mortal realm. While vowing not to interfere with their politics, there was nothing stopping them from interfering in other ways.

Positions

Domina Noctis/ Dominus ad noctem (Lead)

The woman or man in charge of the faction. Theirs is the name people whisper when they want or need help. They are the one sought out to answer for any trespasses the faction may commit. They are the undead soul of the group.

Vigilate sanguis- The Watch. These are the men and women who keep their eyes and ears to the ground on all the events, mortal or supernatural in Abingdon and report to the lead. There's is the job of a police force. They police their own kind to make sure they are following humanity and the supernatural's rules.

The Shadow Phalanx- The Second in Command. This is a person close to the lead, that handles the day to day and also meets with other factions and races in the name of the Lead when they are unavailable.

The Order- General members of the faction who will met within the crypts twice every moon to gather and talk internal politics as well as threats to the city and themselves.

The Obisidan Order is not just another Vampire Faction. In fact, we accept all the supernatural races, who wish to adhere by our standards.
